Industry Response Group (IRG)

Immediately following the Grenfell Tower fire, the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (now the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities) joined with Build UK, the Construction Industry Council (CIC), and CPA to form the Industry Response Group. The group help coordinate the construction industry’s response of informing and implementing recommendations from the Independent Expert Advisory Panel and government. To ensure firms can meet these challenges the group leads the industry’s response and ensure the sector can meet any new demands.

Following the publishing of the Hackitt Report, the IRG have been key also to the development of work to create culture change and a raising the bar of how industry conducts itself alongside the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Building Safety Team. One of its key projects includes that emanating from the Competence Steering Group (CSG).

IRG Technical Expert Panel (TEP)

Formed to mirror the Industry Response Group, the CPA Technical Expert Panel has been formed to act as an essential conduit between the manufacturing sector, other key bodies and Government agencies to enable a vital flow of information and guidance.
