Construction Products Association Appoints New
Deputy Chief Executive

The Construction Products Association (“CPA”) has today announced the appointment of Amanda Long as its new Deputy Chief Executive.  Amanda will join the Association on a part-time basis following the retirement of current Deputy Chief Executive, Jeff May.

At a time of significant change for the construction sector, Amanda brings deep knowledge of the regulatory, commercial and policy landscape, including building safety, decarbonisation, sustainability and supply chain challenges.  Amanda will continue her current part-time role as Chief Executive of CPI Ltd the not-for-profit body driving forward the Code for Construction Product Information, working with manufacturers and wider industry stakeholders to prepare for major regulatory reforms.  CPI Ltd's independent governance will continue to be led by the CPI Ltd Independent Chair and Board, and the CCPI assessment process is enacted by independent assessors.

Amanda brings more than 25 years of experience in senior executive roles across national and international organisations, with extensive expertise in the construction and built environment sectors.  She has played a leading role in raising standards across the industry including being instrumental in the establishment of both the Code for Construction Product Information and the Building a Safer Future Charter and running and developing the Considerate Constructors Scheme.  Amanda brings significant experience in developing and leading national initiatives designed to improve product information, strengthen regulatory compliance, and support cultural change across the construction supply chain.

Her career spans leadership roles across business, social enterprise and the charity sector, including serving as Director General of Consumers International, the global membership organisation representing over 200 consumer protection bodies worldwide.  Amanda has worked extensively on consumer protection, product safety, and international policy.

Commenting on the appointment, CPA Chief Executive Peter Caplehorn said:
“Amanda brings a wealth of experience from across membership organisations, with a strong track record of delivering value for members and driving growth.  Her understanding of how to engage and support a range of memberships will be a significant asset to the Association.”

Adam Turk, Chair of the CPA and Chief Executive of Siderise Group Ltd, said:
“Amanda’s appointment comes at a critical time for the construction industry, and her strong leadership will be a major asset as the sector navigates the challenges ahead.  Her experience in driving change, raising standards and operating across complex stakeholder environments will further strengthen the CPA’s voice and impact.”

Amanda Long said:
“I am very much looking forward to working with CPA members and stakeholders to continue driving progress on the key issues facing the industry.  Additionally, I am keen to build on those foundations and support the industry on the many opportunities to deliver growth and innovation as we move forward.”
