ONS figures published today show that construction output decreased 2.7% in the first quarter of 2018. The fall was broad-based but was led by an 8.8% decline in public house building activity and a 5.9% reduction in public non-housing work.
The ONS today published its preliminary estimate for GDP in the first quarter of 2018. The release shows that the economy grew by just 0.1%, down from 0.4% in 2016 Q4 and its slowest growth since 2012 Q4.
