Industry Engagement

UK manufacturers and distributors of construction products play key roles in both the manufacturing and construction industries.  The sector accounts for 10.9% of total UK manufacturing and 38% of total UK construction turnover, directly providing jobs for 288,000 people across 22,235 companies.  Because we are recognised as the spokesman for the entire sector and respected for our knowledge and insights, we represent our members’ interests with dozens of industry-wide organisations, boards and alliances.  This complements our political engagement and primarily involves sharing the unique perspectives of construction products manufacturers and distributors and helping the rest of industry to understand and address critical, complex issues, such as skills shortages, productivity, sustainability measurement and reporting, digitalisation, capacity and investment.

Our team are experienced and well qualified to contribute, often leading professionals in their fields.  We have a reputation for developing credible, practical solutions which are fact and evidence-based.  Since we are product-neutral and support all materials equally, we are frequently called upon to create consensus with members and the wider industry.  We also have the benefit of leveraging the expertise of our many members who are themselves very knowledgeable about product-specific matters.

The networks we have built enable us to keep our members informed of a wide range of topics impacting the construction products industry. The list of industry organisations which we frequently work with includes:
